¶ Updating
NoodleManagerX will notify you when a new version is available. You can choose to update automatically or manually download the update.
If you placed NoodleManager.exe in a location that requires special privileges, such as the programs folder, you will be prompted to run the update with administrator privileges.
In settings, you will find available options to disable updates and to opt-in to beta versions.
¶ Connecting
¶ PC
NoodleManagerX will automatically search for your game installation folder.
If your game could not be found, you must manually set the installation path in the settings panel.
Your PC is connected once you can see a monitor icon in the top-left of the application.
For special use cases, there is an option in the settings to disable the path check. This will prevent NoodleManagerX from checking if the directory is a proper Synth Riders installation.
¶ Quest
Developer mode is no longer necessary!
NoodleManagerX now uses MTP rather than ADB, making developer mode unnecessary.
For best results, connect the Quest to the PC before starting the NoodleManagerX.
Do not unplug the Quest while the NoodleManagerX is connected!
First, connect your Quest to the PC using a USB data cable. You will then be prompted on the headset to allow data access:
You must allow access each time you connect your Quest.
Once your Quest is connected, you may launch NoodleManagerX.
You can confirm your device is properly connected when you see a Quest icon in the top left of the application.
¶ First Use
When you start the NoodleManagerX for the first time, it will create a database of all songs you have already installed.
This process could take a few minutes, especially on Quest hardware.
- Some maps that were downloaded a long time ago won't have the correct metadata.
- To avoid duplicate maps you will get a prompt to delete them.
On first run, NoodleManagerX will delete all maps that were not downloaded from Synthriderz
This includes Draft/WIP maps, and any unpublished maps from Synthriderz
This will only happen once - after the first run you can add back affected beatmaps without causing any issues.
¶ FAQ
Q: Why is the NoodleManagerX not sending songs to the Quest?
- Make sure the quest icon is visible in the top-left.
- If the quest icon is grey, wait until the database is updated. You can check the tooltip and progress bar for the status.
- If you see a PC icon, the quest is not connected. Try to click on the PC icon to connect.
- You can also check if the Quest shows up in Windows as a portable device. If not, the NoodleManagerX won't be able to connect.
- In this case, make sure that the quest is plugged in with a data cable and that you have allowed storage access on the quest.

Q: Why did the NoodleManagerX update fail?
- Automatic updating is tricky and every PC is a bit different - so there could be many reasons.
- The easiest solution is to update manually by downloading the new version and replacing the old one.
